Session Info
Dr. Belon provides therapy exclusively via video sessions. Clients must be physically located in New Mexico to participate, have access to a computer equipped with video-capable internet, a private location to engage in sessions, ideally possess a smartphone to download a CBT-I companion phone application, and ability to pay for sessions via credit card. Sessions are typically weekly and last 45-50 minutes.
Scheduling
Dr. Belon's hours are Monday through Thursday evenings; she offers appointment slots on these evenings at 8pm. If you are concerned about exposure to bright light in the evening, Dr. Belon can discuss this with you and generally recommends using a blue light filter on your computer to minimize impact.
CBT-Insomnia Info
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia is typically a 6-8 session treatment, though it can range from 4-12+ sessions depending on the complexity and duration of the sleep problem and the client's adherence to treatment recommendations.
Fee/Insurance Info
Dr. Belon does not currently accept any form of insurance; her fee is $175/session plus tax. Sessions are typically conducted weekly, but can be less frequent. If you cannot afford this fee, please let Dr. Belon know, as she can sometimes offer a discounted rate depending on your means.
For those who would like to submit costs to their insurance as an out-of-network provider, Dr. Belon can provide documentation.
Initial Steps
If you are interested in working with Dr. Belon, you may call or email to schedule an initial 15-minute phone consultation at no charge. Depending on the results of that consultation, Dr. Belon may then ask you to complete initial paperwork and schedule you for an initial sleep assessment, which typically lasts 50 minutes.
At the completion of the initial assessment, Dr. Belon will provide you with treatment recommendations, and if Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia or another of the sleep treatments listed on this website is indicated, she will discuss this with you.
